You may have already seen the new design I added last night ~ Virginia’s Cross. We did this design in HONOR and in MEMORY of Virginia Jacks (pictured below). Virginia was an 11th grader at my son’s school and we go to church with her family (Eastwood Christian School and Eastwood Presbyterian Church). I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Virginia personally, but based on everything I’ve heard, I missed out! One early Sunday morning this past September I got a text from a friend saying that Virginia had been killed in a car accident the night before in Auburn (AL). She was leaving a football game, had caught a ride to her car, and before she made it there (a mile or less I think to her car), the car she was riding in was hit and she was instantly killed. Not even knowing her when I got the text that morning, I got chills and was so sad for her family and friends. Church that morning was somber and so so terribly sad!! I’ve learned so much about Virginia since then and she was a beautiful person outside, but more importantly INSIDE!! She loved JESUS with all of her heart, she loved her family and friends, her church and school, and she loved sports and running!! THIS September is the inaugural Virginia’s Run, and all proceeds from the sale of our Virginia’s Cross design will go to Virginia’s Run (www.virginiasrun.org). Our design is based on a painting that Virginia painted herself and with the approval of her parents, we are selling the applique design to you! You can read more about Virginia on this Facebook Page.
The primary purpose for Virginia’s Run is to honor the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and perpetuate the blessings of the kingdom of the living God by raising money for the school Virginia attended for 11 years.
In other news, we’ve signed a contract on a house and will be moving (again) sometime in June! We have to survive the inspection and all the other stuff but hope to close mid to late June! Therefore, I won’t be taking customer orders (again) until after we move, unless by chance we close in late June. In that case I might be able to squeeze in a thing or two. Just email me ~ rosemarygulledge@gmail.com!
My heart goes out to her family and friends. What a great way to see her memory live on. I didn’t NEED another cross design, but I purchased Virginia’s cross. I love the fact that the funds from this are going to a great cause. Blessings to all that are involved in this.
Thanks for purchasing it!!
What a gorgeous girl and such a tragedy! The design you did is beautiful as well! 🙂
My heart goes out to her family, friends, and school. She was a beautiful girl indeed. I will purchase Virginia’s cross too. It is beautiful and I am glad that it goes to support a good cause. Thanks for doing this.
